What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Chesters's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Washington Addendum impacts several agreements. The addendum is an integral part of and modifies the Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchise agreement, and all related agreements. This holds true regardless of any conflicting information within those documents.

This addendum specifically applies if the offer to sell a Chesters franchise is accepted in Washington, if the purchaser of the franchise is a resident of Washington, or if the franchised business will be located or operated, either wholly or partly, in Washington. This ensures that franchisees operating in or residing in Washington are subject to the protections and modifications outlined in the addendum.

Several clauses within the franchise agreement and related documents may be superseded by Washington state law. These include the franchisee bill of rights, site of arbitration, mediation, and/or litigation, general release, statute of limitations and waiver of jury trial. Prospective franchisees should carefully review the Washington Addendum and understand how it modifies the standard franchise agreement to ensure compliance with Washington law.
