What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to C3 Wellness Spa's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, C3 Wellness Spa retains the right to designate a single supplier for System Supplies. This means that C3 Wellness Spa can mandate that franchisees purchase specific services, products, equipment, supplies, or materials, including System Supplies, exclusively from a single designated supplier or distributor. This designated supplier could be C3 Wellness Spa itself or one of its affiliates.
This provision allows C3 Wellness Spa to control the quality and consistency of products and services offered across all franchise locations. However, it also means that franchisees may not be able to negotiate better prices or terms with other suppliers. Furthermore, C3 Wellness Spa and its affiliates may receive payments from these designated suppliers based on the franchisees' purchases, which C3 Wellness Spa can use without restriction.
For a prospective franchisee, this could mean less autonomy in choosing suppliers and potentially higher costs for System Supplies if the designated supplier's prices are not competitive. It is important for potential franchisees to evaluate the potential financial impact of this requirement and to understand the reasons behind C3 Wellness Spa's decision to reserve this right. Franchisees should inquire about the criteria for selecting designated suppliers and the process for ensuring fair pricing and quality.
