What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buona's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Buona will make every reasonable effort to disseminate its standards and specifications to prospective suppliers of a franchisee upon written request. However, Buona may elect not to make available to prospective suppliers the standards and specifications for such formulae or equipment designs deemed by Buona, in its sole discretion, to be confidential.
This means that while Buona aims to assist franchisees by providing supplier information, it retains the right to withhold certain sensitive details. This protects Buona's proprietary information, such as specific formulas or unique equipment designs, which it considers confidential and essential to its competitive advantage.
For a prospective franchisee, this implies that while Buona will generally support the franchisee's efforts to find suitable suppliers by sharing its standards and specifications, there may be instances where the franchisee or their potential suppliers will not have access to certain confidential information. It is important to understand that Buona has the final say on what information is shared to protect its trade secrets.
