- (a) To maintain in sufficient supply, and use at all times, only such ingredients, products, materials, supplies, and paper goods that conform to Franchisor's standards and specifications, and to refrain from deviating from such standards and specifications by using nonconforming items, without Franchisor's prior written consent, which Franchisor may withhold in its sole discretion;

According to Buona's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must always use ingredients, products, materials, supplies, and paper goods that conform to Buona's standards and specifications.
A Buona franchisee can only deviate from these standards and specifications if they obtain Buona's prior written consent. Buona retains the right to withhold this consent at its sole discretion. This means that even if a franchisee finds a cheaper or more readily available alternative, they cannot use it without express permission from Buona.
