What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buona's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, there is no initial training charge for the first four attendees. However, this applies specifically to the initial training program. Buona does charge $1,500 per week for each additional attendee beyond the first four.
This is a benefit for new Buona franchisees, as it allows them to train key personnel without incurring additional training fees for the first four individuals. This can significantly reduce the initial investment costs associated with training. The initial training is approximately 6 days for the operating owner and approximately 36 days for the operating owner, general manager, and two assistant managers.
It is important to note that while the cost of the initial training program is covered for the first four attendees, the franchisee is responsible for the travel, lodging, meals, and other living expenses incurred by the owner and managers while attending the training program. This could still represent a significant expense, depending on the distance to the training location in Chicago, Illinois, or another location Buona may select, and the duration of the training.
