What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Buona's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee is only required to conduct a Franchised Business Renovation once during the term of their agreement. There is an exception to this requirement if there is less than one year remaining in the term.

Beyond this exception, Buona franchisees must maintain the premises of the Franchised Business and all fixtures, furnishings, signs, systems, and equipment, in conformity with Buona's high standards and public image. This includes making additions, alterations, improvements, repairs, and replacements as required by Buona from time to time. Franchisees are responsible for keeping the Franchised Business in the highest degree of cleanliness, sanitation, and repair, including periodic repainting, repairs or replacement of damaged or obsolete furniture, fixtures, and equipment, and replacement of obsolete signs, as Buona may reasonably direct.

These requirements ensure that all Buona locations maintain a consistent brand image and meet the company's standards for quality and service. While franchisees are generally responsible for these costs, the stipulation that a Franchised Business Renovation is not required if there is less than one year remaining in the term can provide some financial relief towards the end of the franchise agreement.
