What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buona's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if the designated owner fails to successfully complete the initial training program, Buona reserves the right to terminate the Franchise Agreement. Buona requires an operating owner with at least 10% ownership in the franchisee entity to attend and complete the initial training program to Buona's satisfaction.
This stipulation underscores the importance Buona places on proper training and adherence to its operational standards. It ensures that franchisees are adequately prepared to manage and operate the Buona Business according to the franchisor's established system. The initial training program is designed to protect the System, the Marks, and Buona's goodwill.
For a prospective franchisee, this means that failing to complete the initial training could have severe consequences, including the termination of the franchise agreement. Therefore, it is crucial for the designated owner to fully commit to and successfully complete the training program. This requirement is in place to maintain brand consistency and quality across all Buona locations.
In addition to the owner, a general manager and at least two assistant managers must also attend and satisfactorily complete initial training with the owner. The franchisee is responsible for all personal expenses, including travel, food, and lodging costs, incurred by the owners and managers during training. Neither the owners nor the employees will receive any compensation from Buona for services performed during training.
