What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Buona's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, any amendment or variation to the terms of the lease for a franchised location must be in writing and signed by all parties involved to be considered valid. This requirement is outlined in the addendum to the lease agreement.

This stipulation protects Buona's interests by ensuring that any changes to the lease agreement are formally documented and agreed upon by all parties, preventing potential disputes or misunderstandings down the line. It also gives Buona oversight regarding lease terms.

Additionally, Buona requires that neither the lessor nor the lessee terminate or amend the lease without Buona's prior written consent. Any attempt to do so without this consent will be considered void, further safeguarding Buona's stake in the lease agreement. This ensures that Buona maintains control over the lease terms and can prevent any changes that might negatively impact the franchise or the brand.
