This encompasses obtaining all required food handling permits, certificates, business licenses, health department approvals, and similar items. Additionally, franchisees must adhere to laws covering occupational hazards, accommodations for the disabled, equal access, and insurance requirements such as workers' compensation and unemployment insurance.

Prior to opening, Buona franchisees must obtain all required zoning changes, building, utility, health, sanitation, and sign permits, along with any other necessary permits and licenses. Franchisees are also responsible for ensuring that the construction and remodeling of the franchised business comply with all applicable ordinances, building codes, and permit requirements. These stipulations ensure that each Buona franchise operates legally and safely, protecting both the franchisee and the brand's reputation.
