What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buona's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Marketing Fund contribution is due weekly. The contribution is based on the Gross Sales for the preceding week. However, the FDD notes that the contribution may be due on another basis if set forth in the Manuals or otherwise agreed to in writing by Buona.
This means that, under standard terms, a Buona franchisee must calculate and remit their Marketing Fund contribution every week, alongside their royalty fees. This regular payment schedule ensures a consistent flow of funds into the Marketing Fund, which Buona uses for advertising, marketing, and promotional activities.
Prospective franchisees should confirm whether the weekly payment schedule is standard or if there are any variations. They should also review Section 3.5 of the Franchise Agreement and the relevant sections of the Manuals to fully understand the payment procedures and any potential alternative payment schedules.
