What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buona's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must pay a non-refundable on-site training fee deposit of $20,000 upon the execution of the Franchise Agreement. This deposit covers the on-site training and opening assistance provided by Buona representatives before and after the restaurant's opening. The length of this on-site training is determined by Buona.
In addition to the $20,000 deposit, the franchisee is also responsible for covering the then-current daily fee for each of Buona's representatives providing the on-site training, as well as their travel expenses. The balance of the training fee, after deducting the initial deposit, is due upon completion of the on-site training, as determined by Buona, and is also non-refundable.
This means that a prospective Buona franchisee needs to budget not only for the initial $20,000 non-refundable deposit but also for the additional daily fees and travel expenses of the trainers. Since the duration of the on-site training is determined by Buona, it's crucial for potential franchisees to discuss and understand the typical length of such training and associated costs to accurately forecast their initial investment.
