What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Buona's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, initial training programs are conducted a minimum of 5 times per year. These programs are designed for new franchisees and are deemed necessary to protect the Buona system, trademarks, and goodwill.

Prior to opening a Buona restaurant, the operating owner (with at least 10% ownership), a general manager, and at least two assistant managers must attend and complete the initial training program to Buona's satisfaction. Franchisees are responsible for covering all personal expenses, including travel, food, and lodging costs, for their owners and managers during training. Neither the owners nor the employees receive compensation from Buona for their services performed during the training period.

This initial training must be completed within 30 days before the Buona Business opens. The training materials include online instruction and information, as well as the Buona manual. The training program is subject to change without notice due to updates in materials, methods, manuals, and personnel. The subjects and time periods allocated to the subjects actually taught to a specific franchisee and its personnel may vary based on the experience of those persons being trained.
