What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buona's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the e-learning portion of the training program includes 7 hours dedicated to Personnel Policy Development. This training is part of the initial training program that an operating owner with at least 10% ownership in the franchisee entity, a general manager, and at least two assistant managers must attend and complete to Buona's satisfaction.
The e-learning modules cover a range of topics critical to the successful operation of a Buona franchise. These topics include orientation, the history and philosophy of Buona Beef, use of the manual, pre-opening procedures, food safety and sanitation, store safety and security, product orientation, guest service procedures, and operation of various platforms such as CTUIT, Brink POS, and Brainier. Additionally, the training covers franchise reporting and marketing/advertising.
Prospective franchisees should note that they are responsible for all personal expenses, including travel, food, and lodging costs, incurred by their owners and managers during training. Neither the owners nor the employees will receive any compensation from Buona for services performed during training. The initial training program is designed to protect the Buona system, the marks, and its goodwill, rather than to control the day-to-day operations of the franchisee's business. The training must be completed 30 days prior to the opening of the Buona Business.
