What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buona's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees who purchase a Dual Brand franchise will need to attend an additional week of training that is specifically related to operating the Rainbow Cone business. This training occurs at the same location as the initial Buona training program and will take place after completion of the initial Buona training program.
Buona also provides on-site training and opening assistance at the franchisee's restaurant. Approximately 10 days before the restaurant opens, and again 3 weeks after opening, trainers will work with the operating owner and managers. The length of this training and the number of trainers may vary depending on whether the franchisee already owns a Buona franchise, their prior restaurant experience, and the quality and experience of the managers and staff that have been hired.
Buona may also require owners and managers to attend additional training programs, meetings, and webinars for up to 10 days each calendar year, and may charge a tuition fee for attendance. Franchisees are responsible for all costs associated with attendance at these programs. Buona may also hold national, regional, or local conferences to discuss updates to products, services, methods, operational standards, policies and procedures, and marketing and advertising. The designated owner may be required to attend these conferences for up to 4 days each calendar year, and Buona may charge a Conference Registration Fee. Franchisees are responsible for all costs associated with attending these conferences, and must pay the Conference Registration Fee even if the owner fails to attend a mandatory conference.
