What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buona's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees who purchase a Dual Brand franchise will need to complete an additional week of training that is specifically related to the operation of the Rainbow Cone business. This training occurs at the same location immediately after completing the standard Buona training program.
Buona also provides onsite training and opening assistance by sending representatives to the franchisee's restaurant approximately 10 days before opening and again 3 weeks after opening. The length of this training and the number of trainers can vary depending on whether the franchisee already owns a Buona Business franchise, their prior restaurant business experience, and the quality and experience of the managers and staff that have been hired.
Additionally, Buona may require designated owners and/or managers to attend further training programs, meetings, and webinars for up to 10 days each calendar year, potentially charging a tuition fee for these. Franchisees are responsible for all costs associated with their attendance. Buona may also hold national, regional, or local conferences, with designated owners possibly required to attend for up to 4 days annually, and a Conference Registration Fee may be charged. Failure to attend mandatory conferences still obligates the franchisee to pay the Conference Registration Fee. Franchisees are also responsible for all costs associated with attending these conferences. Additional training beyond what is normally provided is available for then-current training fees, plus any travel and living expenses incurred by Buona's representative if travel to the restaurant is necessary.
