What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buona's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must operate their business in strict compliance with the methods, standards, and specifications that Buona prescribes in its manual or in writing. Franchisees must not deviate from these standards. This requirement ensures that the highest degree of quality, service, and cleanliness is maintained uniformly across all Buona locations.
Buona's standards extend to various aspects of the business, including the ingredients, products, materials, supplies, and paper goods used. Franchisees must only use items that conform to Buona's standards and specifications and must obtain prior written consent from Buona before using any non-conforming items. Franchisees are also required to sell only products and menu items that Buona has expressly approved in writing, meeting the franchisor's uniform standards of quality and quantity, and prepared according to Buona's methods and techniques.
Furthermore, franchisees are prohibited from altering, diluting, substituting, or changing the quality or composition of any ingredients and materials. The recipes, cooking techniques, and processes are integral to the Buona system, and failure to adhere to them, including the proper handling and storage of ingredients, can result in damage to the brand's reputation and goodwill. This underscores the importance of franchisees maintaining strict adherence to Buona's operational guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across all locations.
