Buona Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Franchisee is prohibited from displaying in the Franchised Business, or allowing any employees to wear, items that are potentially offensive to customers or other employees.

By way of example only and not limiting the scope or applicability of this provision, such items include those that express any religious, political, or personal views.

The Franchisor's determination in this regard shall be final.

  • 5.10 Covenants.

Franchisee understands and acknowledges that each and every detail of the System is important to Franchisee, Franchisor, Franchisor's affiliate and other franchisees in order to develop and maintain high and uniform standards of quality and services, and hence to protect the reputation and goodwill of Buona Businesses, Franchisor, Franchisor's affiliate and the System.

Accordingly, Franchisee covenants:

  • (a) To operate and advertise the Franchised Business, at Franchisee's own expense, under the name "Buona," without prefix or suffix;

  • (b) To adopt and use the Marks licensed under this Agreement solely in the manner prescribed by Franchisor; and

  • 5.11 Inspections.

In order to preserve the validity and integrity of the Marks and to assure that Franchisee is properly employing the same in the operation of the Franchised Business, Franchisor or its agents shall at all reasonable times have the right to inspect Franchisee's operations, business premises and the Franchised Business and to make periodic evaluations of the services provided and the products sold and used therein.

Franchisee shall cooperate with Franchisor's representatives in such inspections and render such assistance to the representatives as may reasonably be requested.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

Based on the 2025 Buona Franchise Disclosure Document, while the document does not explicitly state that franchisees and their employees are required to wear uniforms, it does state that franchisees are prohibited from allowing employees to wear items that are potentially offensive to customers or other employees. These items include those that express any religious, political, or personal views.

Buona emphasizes the importance of maintaining high and uniform standards of quality and service to protect the brand's reputation and goodwill. Franchisees must operate and advertise the franchised business under the name "Buona" without any prefix or suffix and adopt the marks licensed under the agreement solely in the manner prescribed by Buona.

To ensure the integrity of the marks, Buona or its agents have the right to inspect the franchisee's operations, business premises, and the franchised business. This includes periodic evaluations of the services provided and the products sold. Franchisees are expected to cooperate with these inspections and provide any reasonably requested assistance. Given the emphasis on brand protection and uniformity, it is highly probable that Buona mandates specific dress codes or uniforms for employees, although this is not explicitly detailed in the provided excerpts.
