What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buona's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the obligation to conduct a Franchised Business Renovation does not limit a franchisee's other responsibilities during the term of the agreement. A franchisee must still operate the Franchised Business according to Buona's standards and specifications. This includes adhering to the uniform methods, standards, and specifications that Buona may prescribe in its manual or in writing.
This means that even while undergoing or having completed a renovation, Buona franchisees must maintain the highest degree of quality, service, and cleanliness. They must also avoid any deviations from the prescribed methods and standards, and refrain from operating in any manner that could negatively impact Buona's name, goodwill, marks, or the overall system.
In practical terms, a Buona franchisee cannot use the renovation as an excuse to neglect other operational requirements. The franchisee is always responsible for maintaining brand standards, even during periods of significant change or investment in the physical premises. This ensures consistency and protects the brand's reputation.
