What efforts will Buona make to assist in maintaining uniform standards of quality?

According to Buona's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Buona will continue its reasonable efforts to assist Buona Businesses in maintaining high and uniform standards of quality, cleanliness, appearance and service, to protect and enhance the reputation of the System and the demand for the products and services of the System. Buona will establish uniform criteria for approving suppliers and make every reasonable effort to disseminate its standards and specifications to prospective suppliers of Franchisee upon written request of Franchisee. However, Buona may elect not to make available to prospective suppliers the standards and specifications for such formulae or equipment designs deemed by Franchisor in its sole discretion to be confidential. Buona may conduct periodic inspections of the business premises and evaluations of the products used and sold at the Franchised Business.

To maintain the brand's reputation and goodwill, Buona franchisees must offer high-quality services and products in an efficient and appealing manner. Buona has developed standards and specifications for various services, products, furniture, fixtures, signs, equipment, and supplies used in Buona Businesses. They also have standards for suppliers, covering product quality, prices, consistency, safety, reliability, financial capability, and customer relations. Franchisees are required to purchase fixtures, furniture, signs, equipment, materials, products, supplies, and certain services from designated or approved suppliers that meet Buona's standards.

Buona retains the right to approve a single distributor or supplier for any product or service and may approve a supplier only for specific products or services. They may concentrate purchases with one or more suppliers to obtain lower prices or better support for all Buona Businesses. Buona may also take advantage of discounts for large quantity purchases and resell these products to franchisees at a profit. Supplier approval may depend on factors like delivery frequency, purchase volume, service standards, and complaint handling, and may be temporary while Buona evaluates the supplier. Franchisees must operate in strict compliance with the uniform methods, standards, and specifications that Buona prescribes in the manual or in writing to ensure the highest degree of quality, service, and cleanliness is maintained.
