What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buona's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the term of the Development Agreement is not related to or affected by the term of any franchise agreement, lease, or other agreement related to any Buona Restaurant. The Development Agreement's term lasts until the franchisee signs a Franchise Agreement for the final franchise to be developed under the Development Agreement.
This means that the duration of the Development Agreement, which outlines the developer's rights and obligations to open multiple Buona locations, is separate from the individual Franchise Agreements for each restaurant. The expiration or termination of the Development Agreement does not automatically impact the validity or term of any existing Franchise Agreements, leases, or other related agreements for operating Buona restaurants.
This separation provides clarity and security for franchisees. Even if the Development Agreement expires, the individual Franchise Agreements for each restaurant remain in effect, provided the franchisee continues to meet the obligations outlined in those agreements. This protects the franchisee's investment and right to operate their Buona restaurant, independent of the overall development schedule or agreement.
