What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Buona's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if you intend to be a developer, you must sign the Franchise Agreement for your first Buona franchise. This agreement must be signed at the same time as you sign the Area Development Agreement.

In addition to signing the Franchise Agreement, you are also required to pay the initial franchise fee for your first franchise. You must also pay a non-refundable Development Fee when you sign the Area Development Agreement. This Development Fee is equivalent to one-half of the initial franchise fees that will be due for the additional Buona Businesses you plan to develop. The franchise fee for subsequent franchises after the first one will be discounted by 20%, resulting in an initial franchise fee of $32,000 for each additional franchise.

When you sign the Franchise Agreement for these additional franchises, $16,000 of the Development Fee you previously paid will be applied towards the initial franchise fee, and you will be responsible for paying the remaining balance of $16,000. Failing to meet the development schedule outlined in the Area Development Agreement means you will be required to pay the then-current initial franchise fees for any remaining restaurant franchises.
