What is the dependency for determining the Buona Protected Area?

According to Buona's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the determination of the Buona Protected Area depends on whether the Approved Location is in an urban or non-urban area. For a non-urban location, the protected area will cover a geographic area around the Approved Location with a minimum population of 60,000 people. If the Approved Location is in an urban area, the Buona Protected Area will be a one-half (1/2) mile radius around the Approved Location.

Prospective franchisees should note that the specific description of the Buona Protected Area will be documented in Exhibit A of the Franchise Agreement. This exhibit is completed and executed by both Buona and the franchisee upon determination of the Approved Location. It is important for franchisees to carefully review Exhibit A to understand the exact boundaries and population density of their protected area.

It's also important to understand the limitations to the protected area. Buona retains the right to franchise or operate Franchised Businesses within Captive Locations, even if they fall within the franchisee's protected area. These Captive Locations include transportation facilities, educational facilities, institutional feeding facilities, government institutions, enclosed shopping malls, entertainment venues, sports stadiums, and amusement/theme parks. This means a franchisee's protected area may not be entirely exclusive, and Buona could potentially establish additional locations within these specified venues.
