What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Buona's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must immediately notify Buona in the event of a food borne illness outbreak or any other public health or safety issue that could negatively impact Buona's brand. The notification deadline is no later than the next day following the occurrence.
This requirement ensures that Buona is promptly informed of any potential health or safety risks associated with a franchised location. This allows Buona to take immediate action to protect its brand and the public's health. The franchisee is also prohibited from speaking or communicating with the media and Buona has the right to be the sole spokesperson on these issues.
This notification timeframe is fairly standard in the food franchise industry, as prompt reporting is crucial for managing and containing outbreaks. Franchisees should have clear protocols in place to identify and report such incidents swiftly to comply with this requirement and to mitigate potential damage to the brand and public health.
