What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bumper Man's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Summary of Acknowledgments and Franchisee Questionnaire cannot be signed and dated on the same day as the Receipt. Instead, it must be signed and dated on the same day the franchisee signs the Franchise Agreement and remits the Franchise Fee.
However, this requirement does not apply to all prospective Bumper Man franchisees. The FDD states that the Franchisee Questionnaire will not be used if the franchise is to be operated in, or the franchisee is a resident of, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Virginia, Washington, or Wisconsin. A similar statement appears at the beginning of the Summary of Acknowledgments and Franchisee Questionnaire itself.
Bumper Man emphasizes that the answers provided in the Summary of Acknowledgments and Franchisee Questionnaire are important and that the company will rely on them. By signing the document, the franchisee is representing that they have responded truthfully to the questions. The FDD also notes that any representations requiring prospective franchisees to agree to a release, estoppel, or waiver of liability will not act as such if prohibited by state franchise law.
