What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bumper Man's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are generally responsible for covering all costs associated with attending system-wide meetings and conferences. These meetings, including the annual franchisee conference, are held periodically at locations designated by Bumper Man to address matters of general interest to the system.
Specifically, unless Bumper Man decides otherwise, the franchisee is responsible for all expenses incurred by themselves and their Operating Principal in connection with attending these meetings and conferences. These costs include, but are not limited to, expenses for required certifications, compensation, travel, lodging, meals, and miscellaneous expenses. The FDD stipulates that the franchisee's Operating Principal may attend these meetings, provided the franchisee has not committed an Event of Default and failed to cure it.
This arrangement is fairly standard in the franchise industry, where franchisees typically bear the costs of attending training and conferences. It is important for prospective Bumper Man franchisees to factor in these potential expenses when evaluating the overall cost of investment and operation. Franchisees should budget for these recurring costs to ensure they can participate in these system-wide events, which are designed to improve business operations and foster networking within the Bumper Man franchise system.
