What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Bumper Man Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for completing the 'Assignment of Telephone Number(s)' form. Specifically, upon termination or expiration of the franchise agreement, the franchisee must notify the telephone company and directory publishers about the termination of their right to use any phone numbers or listings associated with the Bumper Man brand.
The franchisee is then required to authorize the transfer of these numbers and directory listings to Bumper Man, as detailed in Exhibit G of the franchise agreement. Alternatively, at Bumper Man's direction, the franchisee must instruct the phone company to forward all calls to numbers specified by Bumper Man. This ensures that Bumper Man maintains control over its brand's communication channels after a franchise agreement ends.
This requirement is a standard practice in franchising to protect brand consistency and prevent customer confusion. By ensuring that all phone numbers and listings are either transferred to the franchisor or properly forwarded, Bumper Man can maintain a seamless transition and continue serving customers without interruption. The franchisee's compliance with these procedures is crucial for upholding the integrity of the Bumper Man brand and system.
