What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Bumper Man FDD, a 'Certified Technician Operating Principal' is defined as a natural person who meets specific criteria related to ownership, training, operational authority, and communication with the franchisor.

To qualify as a Certified Technician Operating Principal, the individual must directly or indirectly own at least 51% equity interest in the Certified Technician entity and possess the authority to direct the day-to-day operations. This ensures that the individual has a significant stake in the business and the power to make key decisions. The individual must also satisfactorily complete Bumper Man's Initial Training program at the Certified Technician's expense. This requirement ensures that the individual is properly trained in the Bumper Man system and standards.

Furthermore, the Certified Technician Operating Principal must devote full time and best efforts to operating the Bumper Business, having the authority and responsibility for the day-to-day management, operation, and supervision of personnel. This highlights the hands-on role expected of the principal in running the business. Finally, the individual must serve as the primary point of contact on behalf of the Certified Technician in communications with Bumper Man, facilitating clear and direct communication between the franchisee and the franchisor. If the Certified Technician is an entity, the Certified Technician Operating Principal will be identified in the Certified Technician Addendum.
