What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Bumper Man Franchise Disclosure Document, upon termination or expiration of the franchise agreement, the franchisee is required to notify the telephone company and all telephone directory publishers about the termination of their right to use any telephone, telecopy, or other numbers and any telephone directory listings associated with any Mark.
The purpose of this notification is to authorize the transfer of such numbers and directory listings to Bumper Man or, at Bumper Man's direction, instruct the telephone company to forward all calls made to the franchisee's telephone numbers to numbers Bumper Man specifies. This ensures that customers trying to contact the former franchisee's business will be redirected to Bumper Man, maintaining continuity for the brand.
This process is part of Bumper Man's broader strategy to disassociate the franchisee from the Bumper Man brand after the agreement ends. This includes assigning or canceling any electronic mail address, domain name, search engine, website, or Social Media account that associates the franchisee with Bumper Man. The franchisee is also obligated to make alterations to distinguish the business from its former appearance and other Bumper Man businesses to prevent public confusion, such as removing the Bumper Man vehicle wrap.
