What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Bumper Man Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee will be required to authorize the transfer of telephone numbers and directory listings to Bumper Man in accordance with Exhibit G. Alternatively, at Bumper Man's direction, the franchisee must instruct the telephone company to forward all calls made to the franchisee's telephone numbers to numbers Bumper Man specifies. This obligation arises upon the expiration or termination of the Franchise Agreement.
This requirement ensures that Bumper Man maintains control over its branding and customer communication channels even after a franchise location ceases operation. By transferring or forwarding phone numbers, Bumper Man can continue to serve customers in the area and prevent confusion.
Prospective franchisees should carefully review Exhibit G of the Franchise Agreement to understand the specific procedures and requirements for transferring telephone numbers and directory listings. It is important to comply with these obligations to avoid any potential legal or financial repercussions upon termination or expiration of the franchise agreement. Franchisees should also be aware of their responsibility to notify the telephone company and directory publishers about the change in telephone number usage rights.
