What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Bumper Man Franchise Disclosure Document, in provinces or territories requiring pre-sale franchise disclosure law compliance, the franchisee must receive the Franchise Agreement, its exhibits, and the complete franchise disclosure document as one document at one time. This delivery can be done personally, via email correspondence, or by registered mail.

This receipt must occur no less than 14 days before the earlier of two dates: either the date the Franchise Agreement (or any related agreement) is executed, or the date any consideration is paid by or on behalf of the franchisee relating to the agreement and the franchise. An exception exists for any deposit permitted under applicable law.

This 14-day review period is a standard practice in franchising, designed to give prospective franchisees adequate time to review the FDD and Franchise Agreement before making a financial commitment. The various delivery methods (personal, email, or registered mail) offer flexibility, but the key requirement is that all documents are provided together to ensure the franchisee has access to all necessary information for their decision-making process.
