What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Bombs Away's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Principal Executive of a new Bombs Away franchise must complete the franchisor's training program. Specifically, the Principal Executive must complete the training program to Bombs Away's satisfaction at least four weeks before opening the Business. Bombs Away makes its standard pre-opening training available to the Principal Executive at its headquarters or a designated Bombs Away business. Bombs Away does not charge any fee for this training. However, the franchisee is responsible for their own travel, lodging, meal, and other out-of-pocket expenses. Bombs Away reserves the right to vary the length and content of the initial training program based on the experience and skill level of any individual attending the program.
This initial training is mandatory for the Principal Executive, meaning that failure to complete it could prevent the franchisee from opening their Bombs Away business. The FDD also states that before opening, the franchisee must ensure that their officers and employees have completed all of Bombs Away's required pre-opening training.
Bombs Away also may at any time require that the Principal Executive and/or any other employees complete training programs, in any format and in any location determined by Bombs Away. Bombs Away may charge a reasonable fee for any training programs. If a training program is held at a location which requires travel by the Principal Executive or any other employee, then Franchisee shall pay all travel, living and other expenses. This means that the Principal Executive may be required to attend additional training programs after the initial training, and the franchisee will be responsible for the costs associated with these programs.
