Can Bombs Away modify existing specifications and standards?

Bombs_Away Franchise · 2024 FDD

Answer from 2024 FDD Document

We issue specifications and standards to you for applicable aspects of the franchise in our Manual and/or in written directives. We may issue new specifications and standards for any aspect of our brand system, or modify existing specifications and standards, at any time by revising our Manual and/or issuing new written directives (which may be communicated to you by any method we choose). We will generally (but are not obligated to) issue new or revised specifications only after thorough testing in our headquarters, in company-owned outlets, and/or a limited market test in multiple units.

What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Bombs Away's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Bombs Away has the authority to modify existing specifications and standards. The FDD states that Bombs Away may issue new specifications and standards or modify existing ones for any aspect of their brand system at any time. These changes can be implemented through revisions to the Bombs Away Manual or by issuing new written directives, which can be communicated through any method Bombs Away chooses.

Bombs Away typically conducts thorough testing at its headquarters, company-owned outlets, or through limited market tests in multiple units before issuing new or revised specifications. However, Bombs Away is not obligated to do so. This means that franchisees must remain adaptable to changes in operational standards, product specifications, or other requirements that Bombs Away deems necessary for the brand.

For a prospective Bombs Away franchisee, this implies a need to stay informed of updates and directives from the franchisor. While Bombs Away generally tests changes before implementing them, the ultimate decision to modify standards rests with the franchisor. Franchisees should factor in the potential costs and operational adjustments that may arise from these changes. It is common in franchising for franchisors to retain the right to modify standards to maintain brand consistency and competitiveness, but franchisees should be aware of the potential impact on their business.
