What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Bombs Away's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee wants to purchase an alternate Input, they must submit a written request for approval along with any information, specifications, or samples requested by Bombs Away. Bombs Away Franchising will then provide the franchisee with written notification of the approval or disapproval of the proposed alternate Input within 30 days after receiving the franchisee's request.

This means that a Bombs Away franchisee is not free to simply switch suppliers or products. They must first seek and receive approval from Bombs Away Franchising. This process ensures that all Bombs Away locations maintain consistent standards and quality, but it could also potentially delay a franchisee's ability to respond to market changes or take advantage of cost savings from alternative suppliers.

The 30-day response window provides a defined timeframe for the franchisee. If Bombs Away fails to respond within 30 days, the franchisee should follow up to clarify the status of their request. While the FDD specifies the response time, it does not guarantee approval. Bombs Away Franchising retains the right to disapprove the alternate Input.

It is important for prospective Bombs Away franchisees to understand this process and factor it into their business planning. They should discuss with Bombs Away Franchising the criteria used for evaluating alternate Inputs and the likelihood of approval, as well as the potential impact on their operations if an alternate Input is not approved.
