What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Bombs Away's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must accept payments from customers in any form or manner designated by Bombs Away. This includes, but is not limited to, cash, specific credit and/or debit cards, gift cards, electronic fund transfer systems, and mobile payment systems.
This requirement means that a Bombs Away franchisee does not have the flexibility to choose which payment methods they will accept. Instead, they must adhere to the payment options dictated by Bombs Away. This could require franchisees to invest in specific equipment or software to accommodate the designated payment systems.
Furthermore, the franchisee is responsible for purchasing or leasing all necessary equipment and entering into all business relationships to accept these payments. Franchisees must also comply with payment card industry data security standards (PCI-DSS) at all times. This ensures secure handling of customer payment information and protects both the franchisee and the customer from potential fraud or data breaches.
Bombs Away also has the right to modify the accepted payment methods, requiring franchisees to adapt to new systems and technologies as they are introduced. This could involve additional costs for training, equipment upgrades, or new software implementations. Franchisees should be prepared to stay updated with the latest payment processing technologies and security protocols to remain compliant with Bombs Away's requirements.
