What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Big Apple Bagels's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees who are in good standing have the option to renew their franchise agreement. To renew the franchise, a franchisee must pay a renewal fee of $2,500.
In addition to the renewal fee, the franchisee must also maintain the premises or secure a substitute premises, remodel the existing location, sign a new franchise agreement along with other required documents, and sign a release. Franchisees must also agree to upgrade the location to meet the then-current standards of decor, equipment, and product offerings.
The renewal agreement that a franchisee signs may contain terms and conditions that are materially different from those in the original franchise agreement. However, the royalty fee in the renewal agreement will not be greater than the royalty fee that Big Apple Bagels imposes on similarly situated renewing franchisees.
