What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Big Apple Bagels' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the total time provided for training for a Production Store will be a minimum of 10 days and a maximum of 18 days. For a Satellite Store, the total time provided for training will be a minimum of 3 days and a maximum of 18 days.

The initial training program is held generally no more than 4-6 weeks prior to opening. The training program consists of classroom and/or online instruction via a telecommunication platform such as Zoom, and in-store operations experience. Franchisees may bring one additional individual to training, either a co-owner or employee. Additional operational training is held for the franchisee and their staff at their Big Apple Bagels store near the time of the store opening.

The training will consist of all phases of the operation including unit operations, bookkeeping, financial controls, local store marketing, customer service, and employee relations. Franchisees are responsible for their own travel and living expenses incurred in attending the initial training program. The training program is under the direction of the Director of Operations, Kenneth Liczwek, and other staff members of Big Apple Bagels who provide instruction in their specific areas of expertise and the franchisee of the designated training store.
