What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Best In Class Education Center's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee wants to relocate their center, they must first obtain approval from Best In Class Education Center. As part of this relocation process, the franchisee is responsible for paying a $1,000 fee for each proposed new site, as well as reimbursing Best In Class Education Center for all travel expenses they incur while visiting the proposed new sites. If Best In Class Education Center rejects the proposed site, the franchisee will receive a refund of 75% of the $1,000 fee.
The travel expenses that the franchisee is responsible for covering include the costs of travel, meals, and lodging for Best In Class Education Center and its representatives when they visit the center. Specifically, these expenses include economy tickets for travel (excluding red-eye flights), business class hotels with a rating of 3.5 stars or higher, up to $50 per person per day for meals, and the actual costs incurred for local transportation. Local transportation costs can include car rental fees plus insurance, taxi fares, and Uber fees.
This means that in addition to the initial $1,000 fee (of which 75% is refundable if the site is rejected), a Best In Class Education Center franchisee needs to be prepared to cover potentially significant out-of-pocket travel costs for the franchisor's team to evaluate any relocation sites. These travel expenses are uncapped except for the per diem on meals, so costs could escalate depending on the distance to the site, the number of sites proposed, and the duration of the site visits. Franchisees should factor in these potential costs when considering a relocation.
