Answer from 2025 FDD Document

You must hire a licensed and bonded architect that you propose and we approve.

To ensure uniformity and consistency of design, we may require you to hire an architect we designate.

Your approved architect must prepare the initial set of design plans for your Center.

We must approve your initial design plans to ensure they are consistent with our system standards and the Site Drawing prepared by us and selected by you.

After we approve the preliminary design plans, your architect must prepare detailed construction plans that: (a) are consistent with the approved preliminary design plans; (b) satisfy all required standards and specifications in the Manual; and (c) comply with all Laws (including, without limitation, the Americans with Disabilities Act), building codes, permits, lease restrictions and landlord requirements applicable to the premises.

You must submit the final construction plans to us for approval.

The limited purpose of our review is to verify the construction plans are consistent with our system standards.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Best In Class Education Center's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee's initial and final design plans require approval to ensure consistency with system standards. After Best In Class Education Center approves a franchisee's site, the franchisee must submit detailed dimensions and specifications of the leased space. Following this, Best In Class Education Center will provide two alternative Site Drawings for the franchisee's consideration. The franchisee then selects their preferred Site Drawing.

The franchisee must hire a licensed and bonded architect, subject to Best In Class Education Center's approval. This architect will prepare the initial set of design plans for the center. Best In Class Education Center must approve these initial design plans to ensure they align with system standards and the selected Site Drawing. If a franchisee requests additional or revised Site Drawings, Best In Class Education Center may charge $300 for each one.

After Best In Class Education Center approves the preliminary design plans, the architect will then create detailed construction plans. These construction plans must be consistent with the approved preliminary design plans, meet all standards and specifications in the manual, and comply with all applicable laws, building codes, permits, lease restrictions, and landlord requirements. The franchisee must submit these final construction plans to Best In Class Education Center for approval, with the review limited to verifying consistency with system standards.

Following approval of the construction plans, the franchisee is responsible for constructing and equipping the premises at their own expense, according to the approved plans and manual specifications. They must also purchase or lease and install all required technology systems, equipment, fixtures, and signs. The franchisee must also secure Best In Class Education Center's approval for the general contractor and other suppliers involved in the construction process.
