What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Benjamin Franklin Plumbing's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to open their business by a specified deadline in the Franchise Agreement. If a franchisee requests an extension to this deadline, Benjamin Franklin Plumbing has the discretion to grant it.

However, Benjamin Franklin Plumbing will waive the extension fee, which can be up to $1,000 per month of extension, if the franchisee provides supporting documentation that demonstrates, to Benjamin Franklin Plumbing's satisfaction, that they were unable to obtain the necessary equipment to open and operate the franchise by the original opening deadline, despite their best efforts.

This waiver provides a safeguard for franchisees who encounter unforeseen delays in acquiring essential equipment, provided they can substantiate their efforts and the reasons for the delay. It's important for prospective franchisees to understand the requirements for documenting such delays and to maintain thorough records of their efforts to secure equipment in a timely manner.
