What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Benjamin Franklin Plumbing Franchise Disclosure Document, if the franchised business premises are damaged or destroyed through no fault of the franchisee, and repairs or reconstruction cannot be completed within 60 days, the franchisee has 30 days after the event to apply for approval to relocate and/or reconstruct the business.

This clause protects the franchisee from being penalized for circumstances beyond their control that render the business inoperable. It allows them to seek approval for relocation or reconstruction, ensuring they can continue operating the Benjamin Franklin Plumbing franchise.

It is important to note that the franchisee must apply for approval within 30 days of the event that caused the damage or destruction. This timeline is crucial for the franchisee to adhere to in order to maintain their rights under the franchise agreement. The approval is for relocation and/or reconstruction, giving the franchisee options depending on the extent of the damage and the available resources.
