What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Benjamin Franklin Plumbing Franchise Disclosure Document, any requests for approvals or consents from a contractor must be submitted in writing and in a timely manner. This requirement ensures there is a clear record of the request and that Benjamin Franklin Plumbing is given adequate time to consider it.
Benjamin Franklin Plumbing's approvals and consents are only considered valid if they are in writing and properly executed by Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. This protects both parties by ensuring that any agreements or permissions are formally documented and authorized.
Benjamin Franklin Plumbing retains the sole discretion to grant or withhold approvals or consents, unless expressly stated otherwise in the agreement. They are not obligated to demonstrate "reasonableness" or meet any other standard when making these decisions. This clause gives Benjamin Franklin Plumbing significant control over various aspects of the franchise operation, and prospective franchisees should carefully consider the implications of this discretion.
