What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Benjamin Franklin Plumbing Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are generally responsible for covering their own costs when participating in promotional activities. While Benjamin Franklin Plumbing may prescribe special promotional activities for franchisees, whether generally or in specific areas, franchisees must bear the costs associated with these activities, subject to certain limitations. This includes displaying promotional signs and materials as requested by the franchisor.

This means that a prospective Benjamin Franklin Plumbing franchisee should factor in the ongoing expenses of participating in marketing and promotional campaigns when assessing the overall cost of operating the franchise. These costs can include, but are not limited to, the purchase of promotional materials, local advertising, and any other expenses related to implementing the franchisor's prescribed promotional activities.

However, Benjamin Franklin Plumbing does offer some initial support to new franchisees. Specifically, the franchisor provides a $500 credit towards the purchase of advertising, marketing, and promotional materials through their designated vendor. Additionally, Benjamin Franklin Plumbing may provide certain marketing services, such as digital and website marketing, prior to or at the opening of the franchise, up to a value of $5,000. Despite this initial support, franchisees should anticipate bearing the ongoing costs of promotional activities as part of their franchise operations.
