What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Annex Brands' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is primarily responsible for training their personnel. The FDD states that, except as provided in the agreement, the franchisee is solely responsible for training its personnel. This means that the franchisee has the main obligation to ensure that all employees are properly trained to operate the Annex Brands center.
Annex Brands may provide training materials and resources to the franchisee to help maintain the goodwill of the system and the brand's image. The franchisee is required to use these resources as directed by Annex Brands. Additionally, Annex Brands may offer guidelines and recommendations for training on other matters, but the franchisee can choose to use these resources or find alternative training methods, as long as the center operates in a system-compliant, legal, and safe manner.
This arrangement is typical in franchising, where the franchisee manages the day-to-day operations, including staff training, while the franchisor provides support and resources to ensure brand consistency and operational standards. The franchisee also has the freedom to consult with their own HR service provider or legal counsel to ensure compliance with all applicable personnel laws and regulations.
