What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 FDD, Annex Brands franchisees are restricted in the type of content they can transmit through their websites. Specifically, franchisees cannot transmit any electronic communication, data, file, image, graphics, video clip, audio clip, or software that is considered a joke or satire if it falls under certain prohibited categories.
The prohibited categories include content that contains viruses or harmful elements, promotes illegal activities, is discriminatory, profane, indecent, or offensive, violates personal privacy, contains political messages, includes sensitive personal information, uses testimonials without permission, or is inaccurate or defamatory towards Annex Brands. This means that while franchisees can technically transmit jokes or satire, they must ensure that the content does not violate any of these restrictions.
This policy is in place to protect Annex Brands' brand reputation and ensure legal compliance across all franchise locations. Franchisees should carefully review all content before posting it on their websites to avoid violating these prohibitions. Failure to comply with these restrictions could result in penalties or termination of the franchise agreement. It is common practice in franchising to have such restrictions to maintain brand consistency and avoid legal issues.
