What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Annex Brands Franchise Disclosure Document, the $4,000 training and processing fee associated with a franchise transfer is non-refundable. If the transferee or the individuals who will be the actual managers of the Annex Brands center attend initial training after the transfer, they must do so within 90 days of the transfer. Before attending this training, the transferee must pay Annex Brands the $4,000 training and processing fee.
In addition to the training and processing fee, the transferee must also pay any then-current license fees associated with pre-training or post-training requirements. For example, there is a current one-time 12-month license and administrative fee of $330 for the online financial training portal. Like the training and processing fee, these license fees are also non-refundable.
This non-refundable policy means that a prospective Annex Brands franchisee who is considering a transfer should be certain of their decision before paying these fees. It is important to carefully evaluate the business opportunity and the terms of the transfer agreement, as these fees will not be returned even if the transfer does not proceed or the franchisee decides not to attend the training. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, as these fees are intended to cover the franchisor's administrative costs and the value of the training provided.
