What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Annex Brands' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, any email marketing, advertising, promotional, or campaign communications must be approved by Annex Brands. These communications must also conform to the then-current policies as specified in the manuals, in writing, or otherwise.

This requirement ensures that all marketing efforts align with Annex Brands' brand standards and legal requirements. Franchisees must submit their marketing materials for approval before use, which may add time to campaign launches. However, this process helps maintain a consistent brand image and reduces the risk of non-compliant advertising.

In addition to email marketing, Annex Brands requires franchisees to submit samples of all local marketing and advertising materials or methods of distribution not prepared or previously approved by Annex Brands within the immediately preceding 12 months for prior written consent. Franchisees cannot use any marketing or advertising materials that Annex Brands has not yet approved, has disapproved, or that do not conform to then-current policies. This extends to digital activities such as websites, social media, and online directory listings, as well as traditional print advertising.

Annex Brands' marketing and advertising standards, policies, and procedures are periodically specified in the manuals, in writing, or otherwise, and apply to Internet and other digital activities, such as any approved websites, email marketing programs, social media platforms, online directory listings, and other online networking platforms, as well as to print and other traditional forms of marketing and advertising.
