What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to 1-800-GOT-JUNK?'s 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee can renew their franchise agreement for up to 3 additional 5-year terms. After these three terms, 1-800-GOT-JUNK? has the discretion to offer further renewal terms if the franchisee qualifies, based on their policy at that time.
To renew the franchise, the franchisee must be in full compliance with the Franchise Agreement and must not have committed any stated defaults. Additionally, the franchisee needs to provide written notice of their intent to renew, meet the then-current requirements for franchisees, sign the current form of the Franchise Agreement (which may have materially different terms), pay a renewal fee, and upgrade their vehicles.
It is important for prospective franchisees to understand that while they have the right to renew if they meet the specified conditions, the terms of the renewed agreement might differ significantly from the original. The renewal is not guaranteed indefinitely, as any further terms beyond the initial three are at 1-800-GOT-JUNK?'s discretion. Franchisees should maintain compliance and good standing to maximize their chances of renewal under favorable terms.
