What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchise agreement does specify the geographic limits of the license. Schedule B of the Franchise Agreement outlines the specifics of the territory granted to the franchisee in Section 2.1(a). This territory is identified on an attached schedule labeled “Territory.”

Furthermore, if applicable, subterritories granted to the franchisee are detailed in Section 2.2 and are identified on attached schedules labeled “Subterritory 1A” through “Subterritory.” The document clarifies that where zip codes are used to describe a territory or subterritory, the area is determined by the zip codes in effect as of the effective date of the agreement. In case of any discrepancy between the zip codes and the map, the map will govern.

This level of detail is typical for franchise agreements, as it clearly defines the franchisee's exclusive operational area, preventing overlap and potential conflicts with other franchisees within the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? system. Prospective franchisees should carefully review these territorial boundaries and understand the demographic and market conditions within their assigned area before signing the agreement.
