What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Stretch Zone's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, special meetings of the Members within a DMA Cooperative can be called by or at the request of a majority of the Members. The individuals authorized to call these special meetings are responsible for determining the time and place for the meeting.
For a prospective Stretch Zone franchisee, this means that if a significant number of franchisees in their DMA Cooperative feel a special meeting is necessary, they have the power to call one. This ensures that the members have a mechanism to address urgent issues or make important decisions outside of the regular meeting schedule. The requirement of a majority ensures that such meetings are called only when there is substantial interest among the members.
It's important to note that any notice of a special meeting must be provided to each Member at least 7 days in advance. This notice must be written and can be delivered personally, via mail, or by e-mail, with specific requirements for each method to ensure receipt. The notice must also clearly state the purpose, time, and place of the meeting, allowing members to prepare and participate effectively. This level of detail and process is typical to ensure fair and transparent governance within franchise cooperatives.
