What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Spray Net's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Spray Net does reserve the right to mandate updates, upgrades, or changes to the computer systems and software used in the franchised business. This is to ensure that the systems conform to new standards or specifications set by Spray Net. The FDD specifies that as technology improves, franchisees will be required to upgrade their computer systems or purchase new ones.

This requirement comes with the stipulation that the franchisee bears the expenses associated with these updates or changes, and Spray Net determines the timeframe for implementation. The FDD emphasizes that there is no contractual limit on the frequency or cost of this obligation, meaning that franchisees could face recurring and potentially substantial expenses to keep their technology current with Spray Net's requirements.

Spray Net also states that it does not provide technical support for the computer systems or software. Franchisees are solely responsible for protecting themselves from viruses, computer hackers, and other computer-related problems. This means that franchisees must handle all technical issues and security concerns independently, adding another layer of responsibility and potential cost.

Given these stipulations, prospective Spray Net franchisees should carefully consider the potential ongoing costs and responsibilities associated with maintaining and updating their computer systems and software. It would be prudent to discuss with Spray Net the typical frequency and estimated costs of required updates to better understand the financial implications.
